About the Speaker
Fred Kizito is the Lead for the Sustainable Intensification Initiative for Mixed Farming Systems (SI-MFS). He also doubles up as the Excellence in Agronomy West and Central Africa Regional Leader. Fred is also the Chief Scientist for the USAID funded program Africa RISING (Research in Sustainable Intensification for the Next Generation). Over the years his work has been focused on interactions between agriculture and environment, restoring degraded landscapes and sustainable intensification at multiple scales. He holds a PhD in soil science from Oregon State University, US.
